Kermit the Power Hammer Rebuild and For Sale

The uprights and support bracing are 4x6x3/8 wall and the arms are 4x4x3/8 wall and its rollable.

I just ordered the Mittler Brothers drive system I will build the arms once it gets here.

​To me the upper arms look like frog legs AKA kermit.

Several years ago I built this power hammer in my shop and it worked pretty well, it has a 1 hp 220 volt motor with a variable speed VFD foot control.

A new bigger​ hammer is also being built  so stay tuned for the build.

​Back several years ago I bought these Mittler Bros dies, they will be for the new big hammer.

The tower beam was to tall so I cut off about 24 plus inches. The shorter 11 1/4 in sides are 1 1/2 in thick and the 20 1/2 inch flat or my front is 1/2 inch thick with the reinforcement ribs on the back. It was from a overhead robotic welding crane it had to be stout.

Now ​2026 and at pushing 79 I decided I want to get my big hammer built. The 3/4 thick base plate is 48 inches deep and 63 inches wide

​Upper and lower tooling is standard 13/16 shanks for planishing hammers so lots of tooling is available.
